God bless you guys out there. I know pasco county is a hard place to live right now. There are no jobs and even if you do have a job, you aren’t making enough. Don’t forget to say your prayers! If you can get the heck out of there, Go!!! I just relocated to my home state and got a great job and am doing so much better than I was down there..

I remember back to the Truman days. Homelessness was not a problem in this country until Reagan became president. Since then, the problem has continued. Many of them are veterans. Now things are much worse. Can America survive?

I’d like to point out that currently there has been given more help in the way of food, water and shelter given to the victims in Hatti than the help that is available for our own homeless! President Obama and family gave a disgraceful pittance of $15,000.00 to the Haitian relief! He’s got Millions of Dollars and could afford to do more than 15K! It would appear that Americans, including Hollywood wants to help others than American families! Shame on them all!

The numbers of unemployed are BS now! I’ve been on Unemplyment since 11/23/2008.. they take us off our claim and put us on another tier to fudge the #’s!! Construction is down for these white guys cause spics are doing it for less! I used to work at the slave labor “job corps”.. They make $15 and hour and pay these guys minimum wage! The cops come by an slash their tents! If they hacve more than 1 bag the cops take the rest and burn them.. that’s the law in FL! No jobs.. NO jobs.. NO jobs!

In the days of old, a man would wash windows, wash cars, sweep businesses, help unloade trucks and create a tiny business of their own. I have been homeless before and survived by going door-to-door and asking if any chores or gardening or errands needed to be done. I was hired 3 weeks later by a wealthy man who liked my initiative. He put me through trade school and I flew like a bird. That was back in 1997.

13 percent unemployment doesn’t mean anything. We had 20 percent unemployment in the early 90’s in my county in california and now were at 17 percent. So what does it prove? It proves nothing. I instead look at ALL the data and which ones are forward looking indicators not lagging indicators like unemployment.

Very hurtful & sad! This is how a jobless recovery, funded at taxpayer expense, is working for the country. When we hear talk about the #’s, they are all categorized, don’t you love to hear “those that have given up” or “those that have become discouraged”? That just boils my blood! As if Americans have given up on eating, providing for their families & living. The American worker has become so slandered for power & gain until the most productive country in the world produces nearly NOTHING!

The “recession” may have ended (as they say) in August, but the unemployment rate continues to climb in the Tampa Bay area. Over 13%, and that’s just those who are eligible and receive unemployment. Not everyone who is laid off or without a job is eligible for unemployment benefits.
